María Angélica Madero is an artist and theorist. She is part of the founding faculty of the London Interdisciplinary School, where she is Associate Professor and was Associate Director of the MASc for three years. She previously directed the Fine Arts programme at Universidad El Bosque. She studied art at Universidad de los Andes, holds an MA in Sculpture (Slade School of Fine Art, UCL) and an MA in Contemporary Philosophy and Critical Theory (CRMEP, Kingston University). She is currently completing a PhD in Art, Philosophy and Critical Thought at EGS, Switzerland. Her thesis builds an aesthetic theory of desire: the idea that desire travels in low resolution, in the distance between what is anticipated and what arrives. She is also part of art collectives, and directs The Gallery at LIS, a space dedicated to exploring the intersection of art and complex problems.
María Angélica Madero es artista y teórica. Es parte del profesorado fundador del London Interdisciplinary School, donde es Profesora Asociada y fue Directora Asociada de la Maestría en Arte y Ciencia durante tres años. Anteriormente trabajó como directora del programa de Artes Plásticas de la Universidad El Bosque. Estudió artes en la Universidad de los Andes, tiene un máster en Escultura (Slade School of Fine Art, UCL) y un máster en Filosofía y Teoría Crítica Contemporánea (CRMEP, Kingston University). Actualmente realiza un doctorado en Arte, Filosofía y Pensamiento Crítico en EGS, Suiza. Su tesis construye una teoría estética del deseo: la idea es que el deseo transita en baja resolución, en la distancia entre lo que se anticipa y lo que llega. Además es parte de colectivos de arte y dirige The Gallery en LIS, un espacio dedicado a explorar la intersección entre el arte y los problemas complejos.
